FAQ

Common questions by topic.

Each topic page linked below goes into more detail.

Getting started

No. Scanning your brand, generating the site and going live all work without a single line of code.

You describe forms in plain language and make changes directly in the intuitive block editor.

The form is generated from one description in a single pass, in 20 to 30 seconds. You can adjust it however you like afterwards.

Publishing your website with form and subpages takes about 30 minutes from start to finish.

You enter your website’s URL. signUP opens it in a real browser, reads the styles in use (colours, type, radii, shadows, logo) and builds a design system from them.

No template, no recolouring.

Yes. Colours, type, logo and headline can be set directly.

Curated Google fonts are available, and you can upload your own font files.

How the registration is built

Form, site and languages

Yes, all content can be edited.

Every form field, page section and email stays editable: you change text directly on the page, add sections such as agenda or speakers, and reorder registration fields.

Yes. Registration fields are spread across several steps with a progress indicator, with a summary after submitting if you want one.

Currently in German, English and French.

signUP translates your text for you at the push of a button, or you enter it manually when you have the exact wording from a translation agency. More languages are in preparation.

Your event gets a signUP address by default. A custom domain is available depending on your licence.

signUP shows you the right DNS records for your provider and checks that the certificate and route are in place.

Guests and invitations

Yes, from Excel or CSV.

Invited guests get a personal registration link with pre-filled fields; fields that should not change are read-only.

Yes, through a closed registration with personal links or an event password.

The password is a simple hurdle, not a permission system; for sensitive groups use the closed registration.

No. There is no guest payment inside the registration process.

signUP is built for named registration, not for public ticket sales.

Privacy and AI

All data your guests submit when registering is stored in our database in Frankfurt.

Your guests’ registration data

Names, contact details and every answer from the form. It is stored and sent inside the EU.

Emails to your guestsConfirmations, reminders and cancellations, unless you use your own SMTP serverIreland, EU
AI analysis of your guest listThe analysis does not run automatically; it must be started manually. Fields containing names, contact details and addresses are not passed on to the AI. In the remaining answers, your guests’ names, email addresses, links and long digit sequences are redacted.Without names, email addresses or phone numbers

When a guest opens your event site

This is not about registration data, it is about the page request: IP address and browser. The registration itself runs back into the database in Frankfurt.

While you build in signUP

No attendee data is involved here, you are working on templates.

AI for content and translationsGenerates the form, the page, text and translations from what you enterNo processing of attendee data

No names, email addresses or phone numbers.

For generation, translation, the editor and the signUP Brand Scan the AI needs no attendee data.

The AI analysis of your registrations also works without them: name, contact, address, ID, bank and company details, comment fields and other personal field types are removed server-side before the data set is analysed.

In the remaining answers the server masks your guests’ names, email addresses, links and long digit sequences.

Yes. When you embed external maps or videos on your event site, a consent banner appears automatically. These elements only load after consent.

Guests can allow all external providers, reject them or choose individually, and change or withdraw their decision at any time via “Privacy settings”.

Registration works without these elements too. Without external maps or videos, this banner is not displayed.

Yes. The data processing agreement (AVV) is part of our terms and applies without a separate signature.

You can read it here as a PDF (in German); the sub-processors are listed in Annex 3. For questions about it, write to hallo@sign-up-events.com.
